Highlights of Joel’s Story
Joel Anderson chose Palm Beach Atlantic University after watching his brother thrive on campus. Drawn to the Christian environment and confident in his decision, Joel never doubted that PBA was where he was meant to be.
As a Mathematics and Secondary Education student at PBA, Joel has pursued his long-standing dream of becoming a high school teacher. Since sixth grade, he has felt called to education after experiencing firsthand the impact a teacher can have. A middle school science teacher helped draw him out of his shell, showing him how powerful encouragement and intentional engagement can be. Joel now hopes to provide that same influence to his future students.
Throughout his time at PBA, Joel has grown in patience and leadership. He has served in several campus roles, including the Anchor worship ministry core team, Fish Leader welcoming freshmen, and First-Year Coach mentoring new students. Each experience taught him that effective leadership begins with humility before God.
Joel believes that the most important part of leadership is not simply what you say or how you lead, but your relationship with Christ. When his heart is aligned with God, he believes he can serve in ways beyond his own ability. That perspective shapes not only his leadership now, but how he plans to teach and influence students in the future.
